As safety flaws in Microsoft Windows, XP or 2000, are found over
time, Microsoft issues patches whenever necessary. One may have downloaded many patches during the use of Windows for a period of time. If some day someone decides to re-install the Windows, the downloading of necessary patches will take a long time. There's a technique called slipstreaming, it is to integrate those patches into the installation CD.
